Chronic wounds are becoming an increasing burden on healthcare systems as the Malaysian population develops more complex comorbidities. These wounds present a challenge for health professionals to treat without having access to advanced wound healing technologies that have not been available in Malaysia. We report a retrospective case series (n=10) detailing one Malaysian wound care centreβs initial experience with a novel decellularised extracellular matrix, ovine forestomach matrix (OFM), used in the treatment of both acute and chronic wound. At the 12-week mark, the principal investigator deemed 90% (9/10) wounds to be closed or improving.
